OCR Page 1 of 3THE WHITE HOUSE
WASHINGTON
November 7, 1951
Dear Ethel;
Mr. William Hillman and Mr. Wagg are getting up a
historical document for the purpose of finding out the
truth with regard to the career of your cousin, who
happens to be in the White House.
You are perfectly safe in talking freely to Mr. Hillman
and Mr. Wagg and I wish you would give them the infor-
mation that they want so the facts will not be garbled
when the actual history of this period is written.
Mr. Hillman is assembling the facts and Mr. Wagg is
obtaining the illustrations, He is a real artist with the
camera and what I call a perfectionist.
I hope you will give both of them the information they
want. I told Mr. Hillman that you knew more about the
family background than anybody else now alive.
Sincerely yours
U.S. GOVERNEEN
