Dear Mrs. Irwin:
I hope you will accept my apologies for taking so long
to acknowledge your kind letter of May 16th. Unfor- -
tunately, I have been in my office too seldom since that
date to keep up with my personal correspondence.
You were very thoughtful to write me as you did, and
if you are interested, I suggest that you get in touch
with my cousin, Miss Ethel Noland, 216 North Delaware,
Independence, Missouri, who is the family authority on
genealogical matters.
Your contribution to the Library was highly appreciated,
and I am sending your check to Washington, D. C., , to
the Director of the Library Corporation, from whom
you will receive a more formal acknowledgement.
Sincerely yours,
