Thanked Cabinet for the cooperation given him and hoped his successor
the same harmony. Reviewed meetings in Cabinet Room with Churchill, Attlee
and others - also the important decisions made in this room.
ACHESON
Extolled President and his leadership.
U. S. to give Yugoslavia 20 million in aid for drought relief -
with warning we do not like some of their activities and may deny further
aid.
European Defense set up is being imperilled by the internal dissen-
sion in France.
LOVETT
Described difference in cost of fighter planes now as compared to
last war - 27 times the number of man hours required to build one now as
compared to last war.
