am The President and his party departed the main lodge
for the return trip to Washington by motor. The
President, however, proceeded direct to the Silver
Spring station of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad,
while the romainder of his party went direct to
the White House. The President arrived at the
Silver Spring station at 11.53 a.m., where he awaited
the arrival of Mrs. Truman, who arrived aboard the
"Diplomat" from Independence at 12.20 p.m., EDST.
At 12.24 p.m., they departed the Silver Spring station
and proceeded direct to the White House, arriving
at 12.42 p.m.
