DEPARTMENT OF STATE OFFICE OF THE SECRETARY WASHINGTON PAST February 5, 1946 SUMMARY OF TELEGRAMS WORLD FOOD Bevin has written to Stettinius outlining probable serious food shortages and suggesting that the five great powers have an informal exchange of views prior to consideration of the food resolution. UNO Although Dulles raised some questions regarding the President is instructions on the court slate, the American delegation accepted the instructions without dissent. Stettinius has transmitted the text of his statement before the Security Council regarding the situation in Greece. After stating the importance attached to frank discussion of this question by Great Britain and the Soviet Union Stettinius suggested that no action be taken on the Soviet proposal. COUNCIL OF FOREIGN The French deputy on the Council of Foreign MINISTERS Ministers has presented French territorial claims on Italy. They total about 720 square kilometers in which about 5,000 people live. FEC The Netherlands Government has accepted the invitation to participate in the work of the Far Eastern Commission.
