Dear Mr. Clancy
The Governor has received your
letter of June 28, 1949, and referred it
to me for reply.
At the present time the proposed 22nd
amendment to the United States Constitution is
pending in the Legislature of Alabama. The
Legislature is now in session and has used
approximately one-half of its time prescribed
by the Constitution without having taken any
action on this proposal. After the adjournment
of the Legislature we will be glad to advise
you whether or not this amendment was adopted
by the Legislature of Alabama.
