THE SECRETARY OF THE TREASURY WASHINGTON 21-6 June 4, 1949 7 My dear Mr. President: I have the honor to recommend the appointment of Mrs. Georgia Neese Clark of Kansas, as Treasurer of the United States, the position formerly occupied by the late William A. Julian. Mrs. Clark is a graduate of Washburn College in Topeka. She is a very successful business women in the State of Kansas, and at the present time her many activities include the management of several farms, operation of a grain elevator, and serving as presi- dent of a bank.
