Dear Mr. Levenson:
The President has asked me to
thank you for your kind letter of March 8th.
He appreciates very much your thought in
wanting to give him the benefit of your views
and he would like nothing better than to be
able to have a visit with you. I know 1 need
not explain, however, what busy days these
are for the President and how difficult it is
for him to have any personal appointments. In
fact, we have, for quite some time, been limiting
the President's appointments to those of an ur-
gent and inescapable nature. I am afraid, there-
fore, that it will not be possible for us to comply
with your request for an appointment.
TRUMAN
With all good wishes.

Sincerely yours,
Cs GOVERN
