Dear Mr. Anderson: I appreciate your letter of October 26, 1945, assuring me that the members of the American Association of Social Workors support me in the changes and expansion of public welfare programs that I have recommended to Congress. I believe that in this country we must have a program of services that will eliminate want. This can be accomplished by further development of those services that seek to assure the economic, social, and physical well-being of Americans. I am sure that you know I welcome the opinions of organizations which, because of their activities, can objectively evaluate the development of the public programs Such opinions will receive my earnest consideration. I also appreciate your offer of service. Sincerely yours, Mr. Joseph P. Anderson Executive Secretary American Association of Social Workers 130 East Twenty-second Street New York 10, New York s RATIONAL ARCHIVES AND RECORDS SERVICE c GOVERNMEN
