My dear Mr. Waltner:
The President has esked me to thank you
for the kind words of commendation which your
letter of Jemary fifth conveys to him. He appre-
ciates your friendly interest in writing and
assuring him of your approval and support of his
health progrem.
In the President's message on the State
of the Union, he stated that be had set up an im-
partial commission to make a thorough study of the
Nation's health needs. Ile also reiterated his
recommendation for national health insurence finith
he believed was the best way to bring the cost of
modern medical care within the reach of all our
people. However, the President added that if there
are any better answers, he hopes this Commission
vill find them.
