Wrote to the President saying the Negro people of America are fast uniting behind him in
all his policies, both domestic and foreign. Writes, "I, as a Negro, can tell you that the
report of your Civil Rights Committee has done nore to better our way of life than
any
other
recent act." Promises that his small-town newspaper, "Remex News" will support him in 1948.
---On Nov. 24, 1947 the President wrote to Nr. Corlette saying the widespread approval given
the work of the Civil Rights Committee has been most gratifying.
