June 12. 1952.
Honorable Harry S. Truman, President,
White House,
Washington, D. C.
Dear Mr. President:
In view of the passage of the McCarran-Walter omnibus immigration and
nationality bill by both Houses of the Congress, we are writing you in the
sincerest hope that you will approve and sign this very important piece of legislation.
We have been following this legislation very closely as it is our firm conviction that
unless we set up impregnable barriers as contained in the McCarran-Walters Bill, that
our country will be over-run with the undesitables and the malcontents of other nations.
It has been widely reported through the Press and otherwise that it is
your intention to use your veto on this measure, but our organization of Mothers of sons
in the fighting forces, and fighting on foreign soil, are loath to believe that you
would veto this legislation which would give aid and comfort to an enemy alien.
We pray that Divine Providence may direct you in your deliberations.
Very respectfully,
