Your letter of May twenty-third has been
received and your interest in writing and acquaint-
ing the President with your views regarding the
bill you mention is appreciated.
Although the President has decided not
to be a candidate for re-election or to accept a
renomination, he wants you to know that your as-
surances of confidence and support mean a great
deal to him.
