Mr. Harry S. Truman,
President of the United States
White House
Washington, D. C.
My dear Mr. Truman,
Representative Jacob Jarvits of New York will introduce
an amendment to the draft bill to abolish segregation and discrimi-
nation in the armed forces of the United States of America and I
am hoping that you sir, will use all of your power to defeat the
Winstead amendment and bring about the passage of this the Jarvits
amendment.
Sir, we have not hear from you lately on how you stand
on discrimination in the armed forces or whether you support the
Winstead amendment or not--could we hear from you?
Yours very respectfully,
Peonard Brown, In
Leonard Brown, Jr.,
Freshman, Howard Uni-
versity.
