Dear President Truman:
In view of the serious crisis confronting the American
people with its inherent need for all out production and realizing
the important part steel must play in this vast undertaking,
Local 601, Executive Board and Membership, which consists of 13,000
IUE-CIO members in East Pittsburgh Westinghouse Plant congratulate
you. We have now seen true Democracy in action.
We admire your magnificent stand against selfish interests
seeking to destroy the stabilization program supported by you. Your
action was courageous. You have stimulated the hopes and ideals of
the common people.
Again, Congratulations and best wishes.
Sincerely yours,
CHARLES E. COPELAND, President
