Letter to the President re appointment with him to discuss at this time
questions involving the Inland Waterways Corporation and the Maritime unions that
represent the workers to wit the Marine Engineers Beneficial Association, Inter-
national Longshoremen's and Warehousemen's Union, International Longshoremen's
Association, Masters Mates and Pilots Association, and the National Maritime Union.
Enclosed is a letter to the President from J. Harry Henderson, Jr. re activities
of A.F. Whitney, Pres. of Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen, during the past twenty
years or so. (this letr not filed). Mr. Connelly referred to Hon. John
R. Steelman June 25th for his opinion.
On July 12th Mr. Connelly wrote Mr. Haddock that the demands upon the
President's time have been such that he has reluctantly been compelled to refrain
from adding to his schedule at the present time. Suggests he take this matter up
with the Sec. of Labor.
