My dear Mr. Garfinkle:
This is to acknowledge the receipt of
your letter of November twenty-seventh to the
President and to assure you that your interest
in writing is appreciated. I am glad to enclose
a copy of the letter which the President has ad-
dressed to Vice President Barkley in which he
expresses the hope that the Senate will approve
legislative action on the bills before it for
the admission of the Territories of Hawaii and
Alaska to the Union as States.
