My dear Mr. and Mrs. Carr:
Your letter of October thirteenth
to the President has been received and I want
to assure you that your interest in writing
is appreciated. Please be advised that the
President on October seventeenth returned
S. 1407 to the Senate without his approval.
I am sending you the enclosed copy
of the President's veto message for your ready
reference.
Very sincerely yours,
WILLIAM D. HASSETT
Secretary to the President
Mr. and Mrs. Charles V. Carr,
