My dear Mr. Fuld:
I have for acknowledgment your letter
of May first and sincerely regret that it is not
possible to meet your wishes for the President's
autograph. He is so busy with urgent official
duties that it is simply impossible for him to
comply with the many requests of this kind which
are being received. I know that you will understand.
Very sincerely yours,
MATTHEW J. CONNELLY
Secretary to the President
Mr. Robert Fuld,
424 East 52nd Street,
New York 22, N. Y.
