MEMORANDUM FOR
THE SECRETARY OF THE NAVY x18 X
The President will make presentation of Medals of
18-4
Honor awarded to Lieutenant Commander Joseph T. alcellahen,

(ChC), USHR, and Lieutenant Donald A. Gary, USN. The ceremony
will take place in the President's office at the White House
at 1230 on Wednesday, January 23, 1946.

Please furnish this office, not later than 21 January,
8. list of those invited to attend this ceremony. Having in
sind space limitations, each recipient's guest list should
include, in general, only members of his immediate family and
should not exceed eight persons.
In addition to those covered by the recipients'
guest lists, the President desires that Representative John
W. NoCormack and any other interested Members of Congress,
the Reverend Paul A. McNally, S.J., Vice President, George-
town University, and such others on that level who indicate
a desire to attend, be extended an invitation to the ceremony.
It is further requested that the engraved medals,
the original citations, and 50 copies of related press material,
for release by the White House, be delivered to this office
not later than 1600, January 21, 1946.
