THE SYRACUSE UNIVERSITY RUMOR CLINIC MAXWELL HALL SYRACUSE, NEW YORK January 23, 1943 Mr. Eugene Katz Office of War Information Washington, D. C. Dear Mr. Katz: The following rumor has been reported to the Clinic: "Germany bought the entire crop of Spain's olives this year. These are now being shipped to the United States in Spanish ships and we are buying them. Our money goes directly to help Germany finance the war." Can you furnish us with information which we could use to refute this rumor in our regular column? We have asked you for this information before, but unfortunately our request got snowed under in the tremendous volume of your correspondence. Yours truly, Warren B Walsh Warren B.
