/ 429 October 17, 1945 Dear Dog: In regard to your recent letter relative to x48 Winston Churchill, I wouldn't count too strongly on Winston being in Fulton until we get an answer from him. He has been invited to address the American Association of Colleges meeting in Cleveland and then go to Fulton several days later. Invitations from the Chairman of the American Association of Colleges and also from President McCluer have been Torwarded through the Ambassador to London with a longhand post script on the bottom by Harry Truman, endorsing the invitations and expressing a hope that Mr. Churchill can attend. X What the outcome of this will be, I have no way of knowing. If the college wants to give Churchill xPP7225 and Truman both LL.D.'s, that is entirely up to them. I will look forward to seeing you at that time, if, and when we come. Sincerely Yours in the Bond, HARRY H. VAUGHAN xPP725 Brigadier General, U. S. Army Military Aide to the President the lir. Charles F. Lamkin, Alumni Association of Westminster College, # See File memo attached. EB,
