Regarding: Letter to the President enclosing copy of letter he has addressed to Sena tor
Thomas C. Hennings, Jr. Says his letter is an effort to aid Earl W. Beck and to clear
up some of the confusion that seems to surround his present position. Also attached
is a newspaper clipping - "GOPs Waging Unfair Campaign".---President ack. (Dear Mr.
Franklin) 10/16/51 stating Mr. Beck would make a very capable Recorder of Deeds for
the City of Washington but the present mood of the Congress is to be against anything
or anybody that the President is for. Hopes he will continue his effort in his behalf
beoause he ought to be confirmed.
