P.P.F. 5966 February 14, 1952 Dear Mrs. Hardy: I have read with great care your thoughtful letter of February sixth. It is indeed a fine tribute to your distinguished husband's memory that you main- tain such an active interest in the Point IV program for which he made the supreme sacrifice. For the time being Mr. Jonathan B. Bingham xw.c. of the Department of State is Acting Administrator of <20 W the Technical Cooperation Administration. I have not permanently filled the post as yet as I am thoroughly canvassing the field in order to select men capable 192-A of carrying out the Point IV program along the lines projected by Dr. Bennett in cooperation with your lamented husband. It is a great satisfaction to me to know that you continue such loyal support of the program. I firmly believe it is the world's best hope for peace and security. Very sincerely yours, (Sgd) HARRY S. TRUMAN Mrs. Benjamin H. Hardy, h16 N. Oakland Street, Arlington, # Virginia.
