Dear Mr. Ridley:
This is in acknowledgment of your
letter to the President requesting a message
in connection with the national convention
of The American Teachers Association, July
20-23. I regret to advise you that your
X/07-Misal
letter was not received early enough to lay
your request before the President in time
for his consideration. I am sure you under-
stand that the President is working under
a very heavy schedule these days. It is,
therefore, necessary for him to have at
least two weeks notice when a request is
made for a message.
