Dear Mr. President,
Cont
This evening I heard you and your Food Citizens Committee
chairman Mr. Luckman, speak over the radio. You stated that
Mr. Luckman's program had your full hearted support. Well,
Mr. President, it may have your support but it doesn't have
that of the citizens of the U.S. Your approval and support
doesn't mean a darn thing, you are only one man. Remember
there are still 140 million people in this country and I
didn't hear you ask them what they thought.
You want the people to eat less, when in the hell did we
have to much to eat. As a veteran of this last war I am
ashamed of you and the congress for what you have done for
this country. We veterans didn't want a thing exeept to
pick up where we had left off at before going to the war.
But what happens when we get back, we can't buy a suit of
clothes, we don't have a roof over our head, we can't even
make a decent living. With the prices as they are today, we
can't even afford to eat properly and you come around wanting
us to eat less. You sure do have your gall. You and that
glorified congress sure have a lot to learn about running a
country. Everything that you do is not for the good of the
country but for a very few who will just get richer.
Charity Begins At Home - Remember this Mr. President and it
fits this situation very well. I don't mind helping the
people in Europe but first lets take care of the people at
home a little too. We citizens of this country want to live
like humans a little. I am sure that you eat very well in
the white house and 1 ts easy for you to talk. Talk is cheap,
big boy and its sure is easy for you to talk.
Think this over, you sh ould consult the people of the U.S.
before making such statements and not the stuffed shirts from
Wall Street.
Sincerely yours,
Fitnay Fried
