President Harry S. Truman,
The White House,
Washington, D.C.
H
Dear President Truman:
At the time you became our President we were heartened
to know you were a Christian and asked for the prayers
of the peole.
"e were surprised when we learned of your recent picnic
which included Sunday and of the gambling and your play
ing polker.
These things seem to be a poor example.
The Apostle Paul, in 2nd. Timothy 3:4,5, speaks of per-
ilous times when "men shall become lovers of pleasure
more than lovers of God". Let us show forth our faith
by so living that He and our fellowmen may have faith
in us and through us be directed to Him.
Sincerely,
Ward E.Hall.
