My heart goes out to you as I think of the great responsibility that you
are carrying and the important decisions that you are called upon to make.
Being the top man among 156,000,000 people naturally puts you in a
conspicuous position especially at this time.

You are being carefully watched to see if you are loyal to the forces
of construction or whether you may from time to time line up with the forces
of destruction.
In this machine age with automobiles and airplanes, one of the great-
est things that you can do to help the American people to think clearly, act
sanely and avoid accidents is to be an advocate and demonstrator of a better
way of life in which the use of all addictives are religiously avoided.
In the enclosed newspaper clippings of December 23, 1950, it is re-
ported that you patronized a chili parlor in Kansas City and indicated that
you would like some beer. No doubt the sale of beer has been greatly in-
creased by this indirect ad for the product.
We feel absolutely sure that the cause of peace can be greatly en-
hanced by your example in helping our people individually and collectively
to emancipate themselves from the use of all habit-forming drugs--in-
cluding caffeine, nicotine, alcohol, morphine, opium and many of the syn-
thetic drugs that are also habit-forming.
One reason that the U. N. has not been more successful is that its
members have been dulling their minds and creating fear, greed and hate
through their habitual use of caffeine, nicotine and alcohol.
Production is the key to our destiny in the fateful years ahead. The
"ALL LIFE IS SACRED"
