STATE 1823 moyer are., Elkhart, Ind. Oct. 29, 1945 President Harry S. Trueman, The White House, Washington, D.C. Dear President: I wish to express my views on compulsory military training for the youths of america. I served my country in World War 1, and have a son who served three years in World War 11. Ifeel that we have done our part, the same as every other good american citizen has done, and is willing to do in the future as we are all anxious for per 2 manent world peace, and are striving to discourage other nations in prepairing for war, we should certainly not exort to the very thing that aggressive nations have done in the past.
