My dear Mr. Dorsey:
Your letter of recent date has been
received and I regret to have to send you a disap-
pointing reply. I feel sure, however, that you
will understand when I explain the President simply
does not have the means to purchase the many, many
articles that are constantly being brought to his
attention.
With reference to your desire to dispose
of the stamps, covers and old communications you have
x13
in your possession, it is suggested that you get in
touch with some reliable stamp company. The Scott
Stamp & Coin Company, 1 West 47th Street, New York,
N. Y., may be able to be of some assistance to you.
Very sincerely yours,
WILLIAM D. HASSETT
Secretary to the President
jvc
Mr. Harry S. Dorsey,
Keymar,
Maryland.
