Room 1107
Kansas City, Missouri
Your Excellency:
This is one of the most difficult letters that I have
ever attempted to write, because we Korean people are
unable to find the words to express to you the admiration,
respect, and gratitude that we feel for you as an indiv-
idual and as the head of a government who came to our
assistance in time of mortal danger.
Please accept this as my most humble means of saying
thank you.
It was an unforgettable experience and privilege to
meet you on the two occasions since arriving in this
country.
I hope that the burdens of office being lifted from
your shoulders will certainly enable you to enjoy a very
long and rewarding span of years, because most certainly
if the prayers of millions of Koreans who look upon you
as a friend and saviour have any means of assuring this,
you will indeed be entering the happiest period of your
life.
Yours respectfully,
CHOI, CHI-WHAN
Chief of Police
