MEMORANDUM FOR: Secrotary of State
FROM:
The President
Replying to your memorandum of the
twelfth in regard to proposed visit of Herbert
Hoover to India, I have no objection to Mr. Hoover's
going to India, if you think it would be helpful and,
if he can stand the trip.
The idea, of course, was to send him to
those countries where he had operated before and
with which he is familiar.
If you think it would be helpful to have
him go to India, it is perfectly satisfactory with
me for you to arrange it.
