3. - On December 3, 1951, Mr. Robert C. Norton, 1208 Hanna Building, Cleveland 15, Ohio, requested of Mr. George Allen, as follows: "I am writing you to repeat my request that you obtain, if possible, for me a letter from President Truman, all in his own hand writing, to complete my collection of autographed letters (not typewritten) of the Presidents of the United States. The President sent the following handwritten letter to Mr. George Allen: January 11, 1952 SERVICE" Re: Dear George - At the request of your friend Art Steudel, I am writing you this letter, for the collection of Robert C. Norton. i am sure his collection must be a most interesting one. Sincerely, Harry S. Truman Hon. George Allen Washington, D. C. Attached to the Norton letter there was a memo attached as follows: "Dear George: At the request of your friend, Art. Steudel, I am writing you this letter for the collection of Robert C. Norton. I am sure his collection must be most interesting.
