June 20, 1952
to ARCHWES 'MATIONAS RECORDS AMD
SERVICE*
MEMORANDUM
There have been close to
11,000 telegrams, letters and cards
received urging the President to veto
the so-called McCarran Immigration
Bill. Approximately 500 pieces of
correspondence have been received in
support of the Bill.
A great many of those in
support of the Bill are from Japanese
groups, and a great many of those in
opposition to the Bill are from Jewish
groups.
