US URGENT
147, June 9, 11 a.m.
Agreement signed at nine this morning by Subasic,
Stevenson and myself (my tel 144, June 8) article four
provides for withdrawal of Yugo forces by 0800 hours
GMT . June 12.
GEn VELEbit said that although Yugo GEn Staff
gave orders last night for troops to prepare for
departure, he does not bEliEVE it possible to complete
withdrawal by time stated. HE Estimated that withdrawal
would be 75% completed by them. Stevenson and I EXPRESSEd
view that this would cause no difficulty provided
withdrawal was then proceEding as fast as possible.
My next telegram gives t Ext of identical letters
handed to Stevenson and me by Subasic at meeting.
