NETER 78, May 6, 11 a.m. FROM HORNBECK Ambassador and Counselor paid calls yesterday offering official and personal felicitations on the Prime Minister the Acting Minister for Foreign Affairs and the Vice President of the State Council. All these and other Notherlands officials very happy over relief from pros- pects of starvation or further destruction of country or both and over escape of Allies from further loss of life for liberation of Holland. The Prime Minister said that he felt his country and himself greatly indebted to President Roosevelt, President Truman, Secretary of State Stettinius, General Eisenhower and General Bedell Smith for interest taken, decisions made and operations involved in bringing about introduction of food and German capitulation. He asked that I convey to the President an expression of his deep appreciation and hearty thanks. He added that this is one of the
