Dept. of State letter, Aug. 10, 1972 By Date 7-25-75 115, May 17, 5 p.m. FOR PRESIDENT AND SECRETARY ONLY At an audience with His Holiness the Pope this morning I presented Mrs. Roosevelt's message of apprecia- tion of the Pope's sympathy transmitted by you. I also presented substance of DEPTEL 56, May 12 re situation of Father Braun in Moscow at which Pope expressed regret that suggestion made would not be acceptable to Russia. I advised His Holiness of my projected visit to US in June.
