February 26, 1946 Hy dear Mr. Edmunds: I have had a great many suggestions about the office space for the President of the United States, but I rather think that building office space in the street is unique to say the least. I think it would be better to use the rooms in The White House itself, which we have to use on account of the shortage of office space, rather than to block one of the Washington streets. Sincerely yours, TRONAN to HARRY S. TRUMAN y Mr. James R. Edmunds, Jr. President The American Institute of Architects 1741 New York Avenue, N.W Washington 6, D. C.
