Dear Ed:
I appreciated very much your good letter of
the tenth in regard to Mr. Eliel Saarinen and
I shall certainly consider him very carefully
for the place on the Fine Arts Commission.
I wish you would advise me as to the best
procedure to get a fundamental estimate on
the cost of the construction for remodeling
the
White House, I haven't been able to get

that figure on a fundamental basis from the
Public Works Administration. If you will
make me a suggestion as to the proper proce-
dure to obtain those figures, r'll certainly
appreciate it.
