My dear Mr. President:
In going over some old clippings
attached
I found the enclosed. It has a certain
bearing on the present discussion about
the White House restoration. Things
seldom cost what the prophets of evil
predict - vide the Balcony, and, let us
hope, the work of repairs on the White
House. I do not know how much the pool
actually cost, for it was done by
Colonel Grant and his committee.
