EDGERTON Executive Director Dear Mr. President: This third report on the progress of the work on the renovation of the Executive Mansion is submitted in compliance with Sec. 2(h) of Public Law 40, 8lst Congress, lst Session. The second report, in accordance with that legislation, was submitted on August 1, 1950. It covered the period from August 3, 1949 to June 30, 1950, but included also information in respect to personnel and facilities which pertained to the entire period from the organization of the Commission on June 3, 1949, to the end of the fiscal year 1950. This report covers the fiscal year 1951 without repetition of infor- mation previously reported, except as necessary for clarity. PERSONNEL The membership of the Commission was altered by the appointment on January 17, 1951, of Representative J. Harry McGregor to the vacancy created by Honorable Frank B. Keefe, who is not a member of the 82nd Congress. Rep- resentative Louis C. Rabaut was reappointed from the 82nd Congress, and the other members serve under their original appointments. The present membership comprises: Senator Kenneth McKellar, Chairman Mr. Douglas W. Orr, Vice-Chairman Senator Edward Martin Representative Louis C. Rabaut Representative J. Harry McGregor Mr. Richard E. Dougherty The immediate staff of the Commission and the consultants remained at the end of the year as listed in the previous report. Additional employees were engaged temporarily during the year for service at the sub-office, Fort Myer, Virginia, as required for the execution of the Supplement, approved October 1, 1950, to the Plan for the Disposition of Surplus Material from the White House, as follows:
