THE WHITE HOUSE WASHINGTON September 14, 1951 MEMORANDUM FOR SECRETARY CONNELLY: I feel compelled to transmit confiden- tially for your advice and direction, the attached memorandum from Mr. Winslow. I am definitely opposed to such use being made of The Executive Mansion and without plumbing, telephones and proper lighting the resulting irreparable damage can be foreseen.
