is
MEMORAMOUM FOR MRS. TRUMAN:
I thought you would like to have a
description of The Chair. The following was
supplied by the builder of The Chair in the
hope that we would give it out to the press:
"The Presidential chair is
traditional in character with a slightly
modern feeling, but entirely original in
design. The back is richly tufted and
its short wings have graceful lines which
flow outward at a slight angle. It is
covered with fabric of a rough texture
with a self-toned pattern in Missouri
red. It is carefully tailored to the
floor with hand-sewn welting around its
base. "
I really think you ought to know just
what it is you are sitting in when you relax in
this chair with its "slightly modern feeling"
and its "self-toned pattern in Missouri red. 11
Sincerely yours,
Charlie
