    "ocrText": "TRUMAY\nDRAFT - 1/2/51\nARCHIVES 'NATIONAL AND\nRECORDS\nSERVICE'\ns\nDear Mrs. Ross:\nFrom time to time, Charlie and I talked about some of the\nmost important decisions I have had to make as President, and\nCharlie wrote up the notes of our conversations at my request. I\nasked him to do this because I wanted a complete and accurate record\nkept so that historians in the future will know what the true facts\nwere. I am writing you at this time to let you know about this and\nto say that I hope you will see that these notes and the other\nrecords of Charlie's distinguished career are properly preserved. I\nknow how easy it is to let old files be thrown out and I just wanted\nyou to know that Charlie's are too valuable and too important for\nanything ever to happen to them.\nMrs. Truman and I think of you often and we hope that the\ncoming year will be one which brings the kind of peace we all pray for.\nSincerely yours,\nMrs. Charles G.
