WASHINGTON 25, D. C.
AUG 23 1951
My dear Mr. President:
This will acknowledge your memorandum of August 16, 1951,
concerning the law enforcement, housing, conservation, and agricul-
tural situation in Alaska.
Apropos of our conversation, I plan to go to the Jackson
Hole country for a few days, and will be back in Washington Thursday
evening or Friday morning of next week. Immediately upon my return
I will review the situation with the Attorney General and the Secre-
tary of Agriculture. We are aware of these problems, and as I told
you over the phone, I had someone in Alaska looking into the situation
for me. I am looking forward to discussing it with you upon my
return.
Sincerely yours,
