Personal and Confidential
Dear Mr. Bruce:
I certainly appreciated your proposed statement of
the eleventh and your letters of the ninth and twelfth.
I shall expect to talk with you before taking any action
on your letter of the twelfth.
1 am perfectly happy with your actions as Ambassador
and I sincerely hope that you can remain at least for a
time in Buenos Aires for me. I imagine you will be
coming up here sometime soon, in which case I'll dis-
cuss the matter with you personally.
I am glad that Admiral Foskett and his men had a
successful visit in the Argentine capital. Naturally we
want to maintain our good relations with all our southern
neighbors, particularly with Argentine. You have done
a wonderful job down there and I appreciate it.
Sincerely yours,
lis.
