Dear Pete:
I can't tell you how very much I appreciated
your letter of the fourteenth, from Canberra.
I think when the people understand just exactly
what the difficulty is with MacArthur that there
will be no doubt of their wholehearted support
of what I am trying to do.
I was most happy to have your survey and analy-
sis of the situation in Australia with regard to
it.
I hope everything is going well with you. Mrs.
Truman and I want to be remembered to Mrs.
Jarman.
Sincerely yours,
By AND
HARRY S. TRUMAN
