Memorandum for: Secretary of Defense

The President
I have your note on the South Pole
expedition. I can't see any sense in going forward with
that no matter if it costs less than nothing. Since we couldn't
meet the request of Boston University to Greenland I think the
whole business ought to be shut-off, Two million dollars is two
million dollars.
