ADDRESS OFFICIAL COMMUNICATIONS TO
THE SECRETARY OF STATE
WASHINGTON, D. c.
DEPARTMENT OF STATE
WASHINGTON
September 20, 1945
MEMORANDUM FOR THE PRESIDENT
Transmission of Message from the British
Prime Minister
I have received from the British Ambassador, with
the request that it be transmitted to you, the following
message dated September 11, 1945 from the Prime Minister
in reply to your message of September 6 to the Prime
Minister:
II am grateful to you for your message of
September 6th saying that Mr. Crowley had given
instructions that supplies in the pipeline
should proceed to the United Kingdom for a
reasonable period pending agreement on the
terms and conditions of payment. The discussions
in which the Ambassador and Lord Keynes are
taking part will I hope give the opportunity for
dealing with this question among others. Thank
you for your help."
