terminal traffic between those countries. There will be a telecommunication
conference at Bermuda beginning November 21 to discuss telecommunications
problems of special significance to this Government and the Governments of
the British Commonwealth. The British have indicated that they cannot
continue this conference later than December 7 and it is hoped that it will
be concluded several days prior to that time.
5. Aviation:
In spite of repeated insistence by this Government that aviation
discussions should take place simultaneously with the financial and trade
discussions, the British have failed to send any one here for that purpose.
It is now understood that Mr. Attlee will be prepared on his visit here to
discuss having an aviation conference prior to the presentation of the
over-all financial and trade agreement and lend-lease settlements to the
Congress or at latest concurrently with such a presentation to Congress.
